Public Affairs Specialist

Duties Plans and implements the announcement of CMS regulations and policies.
Attends regular meetings with the CMS Administrator and other senior leadership to understand issues and prepares for public announcements.
Prepares and edits relevant materials, including press releases, fact sheets, and speeches about CMS, its policies, actions and findings, and provides them to the public through the print and broadcast media.
Handles multiple media inquiries simultaneously, prioritizing and responding to media inquiries.
Works collaboratively with media representatives and subject matter experts.
Keeps office leadership and staff well-informed of significant developments and issues in portfolio.
Provides media relations advice to agency officials and CMS components about newsworthy, sensitive, and controversial issues.

You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:
1) writing press releases, statements, or talking points for use in communicating with the news media; 2) serving as an agency or office spokesperson who interacts or communicates with national, state, or trade media representatives to convey key messaging; and 3) serving as a liaison between the organization and the news media during public events, news conferences, or congressional hearings to help provide information to the public and stakeholders.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.

, Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.

, professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

This Act increases healthcare spending by nearly $100 billion, mainly by extending the American Rescue Plan's temporarily-expanded Affordable Care Act (ACA) premium tax credits for an additional three years, through 2025.
The bill will also allow Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices, implement improvements to Medicare Part D including a benefit redesign and new manufacturer discount program, impose inflation rebates for Part B and Part D drugs, and other miscellaneous changes in Part B and Part D to improve the affordability of prescription drugs.
To ensure compliance with an applicable preliminary nationwide injunction, which may be supplemented, modified, or vacated, depending on the course of ongoing litigation, the Federal Government will take no action to implement or enforce Executive Order 14043 Requiring Coronavirus Disease 2019 Vaccination for Federal Employees.
